Training

Post by frank »

So I am finally in training for the OXO box this week. Now I understand what everybody is talking about when they talk about the PM5 :-)

Anyone tried / succedded in hacking the box to telnet in ?

I ran a ehternet trace while using the PM5 and found the user ftp_inst with password *************** (cavagnaro: NO PASSWORDS) , but it looks like I can't ftp with a regular client. I tried on the port 30021 which is what I found on my trace, but it does not work.. I am too tired to look further, but I will.. Frank

Hi Frank
OXO is quite interesting box.
I did some investigations and I got /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow "joe'd" without success. As I understand Alcatel uses quite strong security in OXO.
If you interested I can sum up my hacks.

Sure...

I did not have too much time to sniff the discussion between my pc and the box, but I will try to do that sometime this week. All I found for now is what I wrote earlier. I might have to dump PM5 to see if I find anything interesting in it :-)

BPWS?!

Meanwhile i got the information that you have to get the Release for your CPU Release, means, you can not use PM4 Release 4.x with a CPU wich got Release R2.

In December we will update our CPU from CPU with R2 to CPU-2 with R4... hopefully this will eleminate some problems i got =)

Business Partner WebSite.

If you don't have access to it, I can put it on the download page, as my deal with Alcatel is that I can put in here whatever we can find on the BPWS as long as I mention that this is NOT an official alcatel forum..

That would be nice, id like to give it a try!, maybe you´ll find there any german version?

I´am in no contract with Alcatel, i´am a "poor" Systemadministrator with a 20 Clients Network and a Alcatel OmniPCX Medium in my office. But i think the Problem will be also solved when we upgrade to the R4.

If you can find anything belong to R1.x/R2.x with a newer date then October 2003 i would appriciate to get it :) ... perfect would be if there is an german version.

Not quite right, the later versions of PM5 are all backward compatible with previous versions.

So the latest version 400 17.1b will work with all releases.

There is supposed to be a new version released Oct 31 (along with R4.1 systems).

Version 4.x in some strange cases doesn't read 2.x configurations. We are still investigating
