Hello.
Can anybody tell me the difference between the Z12-Board and the Z12_2-Board?
I know that the second one is a newer revision of the Z12-Board.
Is there a difference in the hardware revision or are there differences in the supported features?
Thanks, oracle.

Re: Difference between Z12 and Z12_2
If you could see a Z24 and Z24 step 2 cards, the main diffrence whould be desity of electrical components on board.
Cards Z24 in step 1 had some flaw in design, which made them very easy to overheat when no fans and heat deflectors were used. So if you have a empty ACT28 and STEP1 card, it's OK,but if you have 2 ACT28 instaled one above the second, and you have 50+ cards installed, then, well, keep your fingers crossed. Or have a spare card in your server room.
Problem with Z12 and Z12_2 could be the same.
Note: with very very, veryyyy obsolete software, some cards with "step2" (even like PRA2) will simply not run... why? Becaouse they are discontinued and software like 1.4 is discontinued also...
Of course cards in step 1 will run from 1.4 to 8.0.1...

Re: Difference between Z12 and Z12_2
The features are the same. The hardware design and very special programming parameters changed.
I think the voltages and currents are a bit different too.
Long time ago I've heard it was planned to support CLIP on Z-2 but now it's supported by (e)Z32 as Crystal board and MIX, SLI as Common hardware only so far I know.
What's your problem? Why you're asking?
