This just went bad today and now we are down. Our vendors do not have any available. Are there any out there?

Are you sure it's the call server? It might just be the HDD.

Does the call server boot at all? If you get into the console port do you get any output at all?

You had another post about your system rebooting everyday. That's why I ask.

after more testing and viewing from the console ports we again are uncertina of what the real problem is.

Here are some recent messages from the console. I expect the system may reboot again soon. We have forwarded all of our inbound calls to our sister company until this is resolved.

aspen-dma: ide_dma_lostirq
aspen-dma: hda: dma disabled
hda: lost interrupt
hda: irq timeout: status=0xd0 { Busy }
ide0: unexpected interrupt, status=0xd0, count=1
ide0: reset: success

Does this mean anything? Yesterday and today we had a new vendor looking at things remotely but nothing defnitive has come up. We thought maybe there was a communication issue from the GD to CS. Both LAN ports are connected to our Cisco switch in their own vlan. At one point the CS stopped communicating but it finally came back. On the Cisco side it appears like the ports are "flapping".

Thanks for taking the time to look at this!

irq timeout means it's a faulty HDD.

Release 6 was about the time Alcatel started shipping faulty drives.

It was a faulty HD as torrentula diagnosed (thanks!!). I was able to remove the old HD (20 GB), place it into a USB to IDE/ATA/100 box, then use ghost 8.2 to create an image. I then wrote the image to a new 160 GB HD installed the drive and it is working fine. Luckily the old HD was "alive" enough to provide a good image.

is there any money riding on the bet? I have the hard drive in my office and I could be influenced ($) as to the answer ;-)

Actually...I'm not the betting type...or the extortionist type...it was a Toshiba MK2023GAS HDD2187.

Anyway:

Your Vendor should at least TRY to see this as HDD failure, by this logs..
And well, for 30 days it's possible to convert old office CPU card (or GD, OR GA) to CPU type for (RS).

So, your you should change your vendor ASAP.
