4635 messages coming back after deleting

I have a 4635 onsite for my customer. Randon users are logging in sometimes to hear that a voicemail message will be deleted now since it has been saved for more than 90 days. It then replays the message and then deletes it. The problem is that these messages were not saved by the users...they were deleted back when they were first recorded. I also have some users that have messages they deleted last year that showed up today in their mailbox as new messages. I have performed garbage collects and such in the past but its not fixing the issue. Could this be a bad hard drive or card? If not, does anyone have any suggestions?

Sounds really bizarre - have been workiing with 4635 for quite a few years now and never had a similar issue. I also have a few VMails running on the same version and do not experience the same issue. If no one's playing around, I suggest you do a database save and rebuild the 4635. If the system's not so big you might find it would be better not to restore the DB but start afresh.

Dumb question: did you restore any backup lately on OXE and/or 4635?

I have not restored a database lately because I haven't had a reason to. I did last year when this problem first appeared. What ya thinking?

I am thinking that you have restored also an 4635 backup with all initial messages recorded on the system. Can you try to delete all messages and voice mailboxes and then to recreate vm for users? Then see if the problem persists.

Wow...that would be a HUGE task. This system has over 2,600 users and almost all of them have voicemail. It is also a public school system. This would be hard to convince them to let me do. I can say though, I have had this issue also happen on my phone set here onsite and it was a message I deleted a month prior and not restore of database was done during this time.

Hmm... you have more odd things around there on your school that I've seen in my entire career..(DTMF issues, VM issues, etc). Maybe it would be better to reload the software in your voice CPU(or better to replace it). You said in other post that the AA is also on this 4635. Maybe this voice CPU causes your system all sorts of trouble.

I know right...this system has everyone at my company stumped as well as Alcatel TAC. However it was decided today that I will be reloading the Standby CPU like a fresh install and start from scratch. Hopefully...this will take care of the DTMF issues.
