Error when backing up 4635 database

Post by torrentula »

Anyone ever seen this error? I have the network settings configured on the 4635 with the correct back server. I have the 4635 in the host table on the PCX and can ping the 4635 by name, but getting this error when trying to do a backup from the swinst menu.

Hey T,

what version is the PBX and what version is the VM?

For some reason, my brain is flagging an alarm telling me that this feature never worked properly many years ago.

Thanks for the reply.

Below are the releases:

System:
R4.1-d1.305-4-l-us-c6s2

4635
Software Release ...... 3.0.4
System Type ...... A4635J / VPS35

I have another system with the same system and vmail release and can do backups fine. I am using a network cable on this one though, the problem system is using embedded ethernet. Could this be the issue

simple test would be to perform a ping test from the CPU to the VM and vice versa. But for a man of your intelligence, I'm sure you have done that already yes?

Just trying to catch up on some posts. I hadn't tried that Knight, but I was onsite last week and yes, I can ping both directions.

C1 because the customer wasn't sold the ethernet cable. Are there any differences this way?

Hello,

Did you find solution for this problem? I have same error now with 5.4.4 and 5.4.5.

Thanks

Hi guys,

I get the same error message "poll: protocol failure in circuit setup" when I was trying the restore the A4635.

For my case, I'm using C1 link and both OXE and A4635 can ping each other perfectly.
However, when I check on the Ethernet parameter of the A4635 I noticed that the MAC address of the VPM35 board is written as all 00 like below. I remember that my for my previous restore I can see the MAC address so I decided to reinstall the A4635 again. Viola it works.

After I have reinstalled the A4635 I can see the correct MAC address and with the correct MAC address I was able to restore my voice mail.

Just to share my experince. I hope it help. Good luck.
