Voice Mail 4635 installation

hi ! i want to install voice mail 4635 on VPU-5, as i was configuring following prompt was appearing:

To Install System: login as 'swinst'
To Reboot System: login as 'reboot'

191.254.1.250 login:

When enter swinst then again installation or upgradation is started and on entering reboot its start rebooting.
The system is 4400 with CPU-5 and Release 5.0.
Kindly help me out.

Hi,

You need to start a tftp server on your PC (For example BOOTPD, RCATD et TFTPD used with 4400 versions)
(IP 191.254.1.1)
Create the directory BOOTP under C:\ and copy the files A4635J.CFG et kernel.ram of the 4635 version in the directory.
Edit the file A4635J.CFG and modify it
# !CFG-:A4635-BOOT
kernel /bootp/kernel.ram
cmdline X35=D:/a4635 <-- directory where the 4635 version is
You press space bar at the start of the VPU5 and then select 'Boot Network'
The VPU5 will boot on your TFTP serveur and load the version

I have done the modification as u have said but the problem still persist....here are the incidents occured:

Trying RCAT calls to 191.254.1.100.

RCAT calls to 191.254.1.100 failed.
Trying NFS mount 191.254.1.100:/a4635 on /mnt.
mount: RPC: Unable to send; errno = Network is unreachable
Mounting 191.254.1.100:/a4635 on /mnt failed
Trying RSH calls to 191.254.1.100 as mtch.
191.254.1.100: Network is unreachable

No Bootfiles found on server.

Did you install the voicemail from scratch ?

no...actually my customer`s Voice mail stopped working so i have tried to reinstall the release but not from the scratch

Hi,

I had the same problem with a release 5 on a VPU. Now it works:

- First, you have to upgrade BIOS on your VPU (files under /a4635/flash/vpu5)
upgrade with a V24 terminal: "send file"
- When the VPU5 boots on the network, the file to use is "a4635v.cfg": then the VPU5 loads the file "kernel_v.ram"
(kernel.ram is for VPS35)
- At the beginning of the software installation, choice V (and not J)

hye,
i had same problem with same message. I observed the network with wireshark, and i saw the vpu5 sent ARP request to 191.254.1.21 ! so i mount a vmware with same files in c: with @ip 191.254.1.21, launch bootpd and reboot the vpu5 board.

at the same prompt, one minute passed and miracle : the installation continue !

after ten minutes and some questions , the installation was done!

i hope this solution will help someone !
