PXC Backup doesn't complete...

Post by niko »

Folks,

Am trying to make frequent backups as I move on making configuration changes but for some reason the backup utility don't seem to backup any real data:

This is what am doing:

1. Login to Maintenance
2. In the Operation Window, I click on PCX Backup
3. Then I select one o fthe files i.e. "MAO, voice guide and account"
4. Then I hit Apply button

Then I see "[1:21:09 PM] > Backing up 192.168.1.12 ...
which takes minutes (I waited for more than 1 hour) and at the end the only data created on the default directory is an empty folder.

Any idea what am missing here?

Thanks Niko

Hi Frank

Am using the web browser to connect to the PBX not the 4760 client. Does this help?

Thx Niko

MMhh.. I never tried... Just backup using the console for now, and ftp to the PBX.

Login as swinst , password SoftInst , and in the easy menu you can choose to backup the system. You can also go to the expert menu and choose backup and resore and immediate backup on cpu disk. Once this is done, ftp to the pbx using mtcl , and go to /usr4/BACKUP/IMMED and download all the files. If I can get to a 4760i, I'll give it a try and let you know

Frank is right. In this menu you´re backing up what is manually backed up by using the swinst menu on the OXE. I recommmend to use the expert menu because the easy manu has some dangerous things.
