Installing Office 2007

Post by BlueFox »

Can anyone help me installing XP Pro and Office 2007 on to MTW?

I'm running TightVNC, as per the installation guide, and have installed XP Pro. I can see the repeating ping command, also detailed in the installation manual but there is no prompt to insert the Office disk.

I tried installing Office directly on to the VM. Although this seemed to work (I installed only excel, word and powerpoint - default settings), I could not then activate XP or Office via the internet (no LAN connection?).

Is there a workaround for this?

Thanks in advance.

there's a startup .bat file that the instructions say to copy after installing XP pro and Office. Which bat files are you referring to?

There is no need to activate XP. Regarding office 2007 you find this under alternativ/resursces here you should se it´s already activated.

The indication to enter de Office 2007 CD is on the TW screen not in the Windows OS on VMWare

I know. The TW screen never changes from 'Installing Windows'. If I browse away from that page, I have to start all over again. I've tried different browsers too, to see if that makes a difference.

No joy.

Gave up :-(

Ended up manually installing it and activating XP and office over the phone.
