AC5BASE file

i know that this is a data base file, but the problem with me that each time the size of this file reach 2 GB the data base corrubt and it display for me many errore messages in the data base.

any body can help and tell me how to solve this issue.

If you talk about 4740 then I had the same problem. The only thing that I was doing, was to purge tickets

hi wizzy.

yes I'm speeking about 4740. also that's what i'm doing, i deleat tickets every month but this didn't solve the problem and the size of file still increase.

With 4740 DB file when you delete a ticket you actually do not free up a space in a DB. You should run "Rebuild DB" from a DB admin application.This will get rid of unused space in a DB file.
Concerning your DB size it can take a very long time.

On FAT32 formatted harddisks the file size is limited to 2GB. Convert to NTFS if possible. This filesystem does not have this 2GB limit. NTFS is available in Windows NT, 2000 and XP. (See help in your OS)
Alternatively, move your AC5BASE file to a network drive formatted with NTFS.

thank you alex. now iam deleting the tickets and then do a rebuild for the database and it's working and the size of the file decrases.

i will try what did you suggested Friday. it will be a best solution if it works.
