make a logical loop in a PRI/BRI access

Post by tincho.rn »

Hi. I am looking for a command or a way to do a logical loop in a ISDN access (if you know the command for a PCM-R2 will be usefull too). There is a command: loop and it seems to be the one I am looking for. Can anyone teach me how to use it? Thanks in advance.

From the documentation:

The "loop" command
This command is used to determine which board is potentially providing synchronizing for the system.

Syntax: loop <cr>

Where:

y: enables loop back,

n: disables loop back.

Status can be:

i: for an internal loop,

e: for an external loop,

c: to loop a specific trunk. To do this, trunk group number must be entered [from 1 to 23].

Examples:

(1)OXE0> loop 4 3 0 y e

to set up an external loop.

(1)OXE0> loop 4 3 0 y i

to set up an internal loop.

(1)OXE0> loop 4 3 0 y c 1

to set up a loop on a specific trunk (1 in the example).

Hi Frank. Thanks for your aswer. In the documentation I also read that this command is also used to perform complete loop back on a T1 access. What does it mean?. Whats more, how do I use this command to determine which board synchronice the system? Thanks in advance.

This is only to do a SOFT loop.
If you want to do a hard loop, you have to take a RJ45 connector, and link pin 1-4 and 2-5.

If you want to know which board does the synchronization, do a infocs

Hi Frank. I want to do a SOFT loop. Sometimes it is usefull because the company which give us the ISDN access ask for a loop to test its equipment and we are far away from the site. Thanks for aswer.
