Calling line ID (Number)

Post by mabrgron »

Hello all

I hope someone can help me out.

The situation that I have is that our site spans 2 area codes, which have some NXXs that are local calls and some that are a long distance call.

Now the problem is when a long distance call comes in from one or the area codes into our system the system treats them all as Long distance by adding a 1 ahead of the NPA or treats them all as local.

Is there not a way for the system to get this information from the PRI.

On our previous system the system would look at the call coming in and see (in the d channel messaging) that the call is long distance or local

I hope this makes sense

It would be a nightmare to start imputing all the deferent NXX that are local to our sites.

There must be an easier way!

Thanking you all in advance..

About calling line ID
You have "calling number" (you can see with "t3" trace).
And you have translator/ext. dialing plan/ ext. callback translation - this item convert calling number like you want (delete or add some digits).

But sometime we have problem with speed dial - during incoming call if number present in SD - you will have displayed name from SD instead of calling number.
