Limiting bandwidth with validity period

Has anyone tried using the "policy validity period" to limit up and down bandwdith depending time and day of week? We want to implement an overnight service in which we deliver more bandwidth during night and would like to automate it.

I read that using this command it can be done. My question is if someone has any experience trying this.

Also, the command "policy action action_name maximum bandwidth bps" implements traffic shaping or policing?. I would like to shape download traffic if possible (using time and day schedules)...

PS: Is it possible to use validty period for the command "qos port maximum egress-bandwidth"? This would solve my issue

If it is not documented it is also not possbile

bandwidth limitation via rule is shaping .
