OXE on Appliance Server (AS)

Post by OXE_4400 »

How sensitive OXE sw installation on Appliance Server ( HP DL320 ) BIOS version?
Does anybody have installed OXE on HP DL320, especially from scratch on non ALU provided server?
Have You changed HP DL320 BIOS versions?

Another question regarding two Ethernet ports. HP Dl320 G5p and G6 has NIC 1 Port / Shared iLO 2 Management Port.
Is it possible to use this port for iLO2 and NIC2 for OXE needs?

Question closed. AS support Ethernet redundancy.

It stays first one regarding DL320 BIOS version.

AS support all HP DL320 G6 BIOS versions starting from 6 Jul 2009 - official answer from ALU support.

Also have checked very interesting possibility to use access to console port through iLO2 Advanced Remote Serial Console.
I got full access to OXE console from Internet Explorer.
LAN redundancy on both LANs works too.

As for bios, it's almost the same as for IBM, it just works with almost every bios. :)
IIRC hp has iLO2 basic (included in price of server) and advanced (to be paid extra) iLO2 support, is this advanced option included in price of AS?

Of course - NO :-)
But its OK that iLO2 port kit installed, no need to use iLO2 on LAN1 port.
