Calling Name Presentation in OXE 6.1.1 - problem

Post by slabr »

Hi.

I've got to OXE's linked via T2 trunk with ISDN all countries protocol. Unfortunately, I can't full network these systems. That's why I need to have Calling Name Presentation between them. These OXE's has different soft: 8.1 <--> 6.1.1. I've made everything what documentation said and OXE with 8.1 soft work properly (in t3 trace I can see users name in IE:[28] DISPLAY (l=15) field which is corect presented on set in OXE 6.1.1). But in reverse direction it doesn't work. In t3 trace I can't see that filed (it seems to not even transmited). So, is there some more things to configure on trunk or whenever else, or maybe soft 6.1.1 has bug with that option (it should work from 4.2 release). Does anybody have some experiences with this parameter?

It is not a bug.
In EDSS1 only network side can send CNP. You need ABC-F/QSIG-GF/H.323 networking for both sides to transmit names.
If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.

OK. I can understand that but why in OXE with 8.1 soft it is working (I can see CNP i t3 trace on local and remote side and it is shown on remote set)? I've checked configs on both sides and it seems to be the same (differences are in software version).

Hi.

No one knows why CNP works in OXE with 8.1 soft and it doesn't with 6.1.1? Are there some other config parameters not included in manual?

Do you mean that in 8.1 CNP is sent over EDSS1 both from user and the network?

Yes, that's correct. I can see it in t3 trace on both sides and it is shown on sets as described in documentation. Is something wrong on 8.1 or 6.1.1 side?

Checked with a few customers (7.1, 8.0) - CNP is only transmitted when OXE is a network side, e.g. connected with another PABX.
When calling PTT (OXE is a user side) no DISPLAY IE is sent.

Yes, that's correct. Informations in DISPLAY frame are sent from node with NETWORK MODE set to YES to node with NETWORK MODE set to NO
so, Slawek - we can forget sending users info that way... :)

OK. I've found the solution. OXE 8.1 is networked and 6.1.1 is user side. That's why from 8.1 CNP is sent and from 6.1.1 is not.
Thanks a lot for hint.
