SIP TRK NEC-OXE-SIP Server

Post by luis.molinas »

hello all,

I have installed a OXER9.1 and I set up the following scenario:

PSTBN T2/E1 ---> PBX NEC <--- (SIP trk) ---> PBX OXE <--- (SIP trk) ---> SIP SERVER

Can anyone give me some suggestion for this implementation in the OXE.

To integrate the NEC with OXE I dont have problems, so I have doubts is like redirecting calls inbound from the NEC to the SIP SERVER via OXE :?:

Regards,
cavagnaro

On OXE just create an external SIP Gateway, then create a Routing number to it according to the numbering plan you may have, then NEC will call OXE, OXE will identify to route the number to SIP Server and done...simple routing as usual.

thank you very much cavagnaro!

That was the idea I had in mind, I wanted to take away the doubt that there is some other way to do it, I'll try it!

...calls inbound from the NEC to the SIP SERVER ...?
Just curious. What's OXE's function in this case?
Why can't you just connect NEC directly with this SIP server? It will eliminate a point of transit, possible coding/decoding, headers translation etc.
And it would be much easier to troubleshoot in case of problems.

Code: Select all

PSTBN T2/E1 ---> PBX NEC <--- (SIP trk) ---> PBX OXE <--- (SIP trk) ---> SIP SERVER
                         \
                          \ <--- (SIP trk) ---> SIP SERVER
If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.

Hi alex,

the OXE is in the middle because the technical support of the NEC gave the report that the NEC is not certified to work with the SIP Server but yes with the OXE. since it is operating a OXE and NEC in it, we opted for this scenario.
