I have a switch that is in a non stop reboot mode. I've been able to replace the Hos.img in miniboot by breaking the boot process, but it still continues to fail. Any help would be appreciated.
Here is the output:

Re: OS 6648 Failing
Hi,
I would say you have may be a flash issue.
Try first to boot from working.
Else format the flash and make a new directories in order to upload the files and images.
Use Knowledge Base by ALU or search this forum.

Re: OS 6648 Failing
I received a new compact flash, same size (32MB) and same manufacture (Scandisk), however when I replace it, the switch doesn't even boot to miniboot. I've tried to format the new disk using fat32, but it will only format fat16. I've booted into miniboot (using the previous bad flash card) and then swapping cards and run the diskInit command...but it hangs. Not sure where to go from here.

Re: OS 6648 Failing
no dice...copied the files to the card, but still doesn't boot from the replacement card. I can read it in windows, but it wont boot into miniboot.

Re: OS 6648 Failing
No Vxworks doesn't have that option, plus it boots into miniboot using a different compact flash.

Re: OS 6648 Failing
NFI
from your output you have
# of lost chains: 5
total bytes in lost chains: 12,338
Hence you must have corrupted files on the flash. Which are corrupted i can't tell.
Try attached document - is for 7000, but contains a nice explanation.

Re: OS 6648 Failing
I'm back up now...the replacement flash wasn't working, but with a different flash it's working.
