Calling Party Name Display

Post by tjm0852 »

So I have an Audiocodes Gateway connected to DPT1 in the 4400 and Lync on the other side.

The calling party name display does not seem to work even though I see it on a trace

I do see the calling party name display on PSTN trunk calls, so as far as I know it is enabled in the system. See below

Anyone know what the difference is between "Display" and "Name Presentation Allowed" is?

Thanks

There are a couple different ways of sending calling name. It can be sent in the Facility or the Information Element. My guess is the other end doesn't like the way its being sent.

The trace examples are what the 4400 is receiving. The name presentation allowed is not being shown on the display of the set.

I would like to be able to use that name presentation information to populate the set that is receiving the call.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I see. Did you turn on calling name presentation under system -> other system param -> external system parameters? As well as allowing Calling name display (CNIP/I-CNAM) in the phone features class of service?

Yes all the parameters are on as it works for PSTN trunk calls. Just not for calls across this private trunk.

Do a trace on the isdn trunk where it works. Is the calling name in the IE like in the above trace? My guess is no, I think Alcatel supports calling name in the facility, no the IE.
