OXE - help!

Post by Dmitry »

Looking for some creative idea here!

We need OXE users to be able to hear a recorded announcement (answering-machine like) by dialling a certain internal (e.q. 3000) number. After playing back the announcement the call should be released.

There can be as many as 20 simultaneous callers.

Auto-attendant would work here, but as I understand, you can not access auto-attendant leaves from extensions - trunks only (correct me if I'm wrong)

Thanks!

pilot with a blocked guide and no destination - will need local hybrid loop though to call internally
And you are correct with IAA you cannot call it internally without back to back trunks

a virtual extension with an immediate forward towards an announcement mailbox, woul do the trick. The number of people who could hear the messagee depends on the number of mailbox access (vmail command)

Hey Dmitry,

Do you have common or crystal hardware ?
I have an OXE here (common), and I can reach everything from the AA ..

If you have crystal, what voicemail do you have ? 4035 ?
You can use a voicemail type (i don t remember the type), where it plays
an announcement and hangup after..

Thanks to all for advise... ended up doing back-to-back trunk connections for the time being - don't have enough simultaneous accesses on voice mail.

Frank, the hardware is MG with voice mail on call server - everyone we asked has confirmed that Auto Attendant is only accessible from the trunk lines. Checked ourselves as well.

Thanks!
