Unable to connect to console

Hi,
I'm having problems connecting from my pc to the console of the alcatel 6250-24. Port settings are 9600 8N1 no flowcontrol (as stated in the manual), but I don't see anything in the terminal window.
Does anyone have any idea?

Settings are fine, are you sure you have the right cable (Cisco Console cables won't work)?
-> Alcatel Adapter + normal Ethernetcable

Do you have another switch to test against?

Yes indeed I used the Alcatel adapter. The problem was a broken patch cable
