Problem with OXO and V24 for billing

Post by analistapa »

Hi!

I am newbie in Alcatel OmniPCX Office and I really need help for implementing billing operation in my work.

I am trying getting billing information from OXO using 4093 V24 Adaptor through Hyperterminal, but it's not working.
Seems like no have connection from serial port but COM Port(9600,8,N,1) it's OK.

There some information for help:

OmniPCX Office
PROD.CO : 3EH76027BDAB
SOFT REL: R410/15.5
MAN. DATE: 2006/03

PM5 settings
UAI-8 Board - Port 8 configured as V24 (9600,8,N,1)
Counting --> External accounting activation (checked)
Metering Transmission characteristics --> UAI-8 Port 8 selected
Subscribers --> Counting-->Tracking-->All calls

4093 ANTHRACITE 4200 V24
Port V24(DB9) connected to COM1 (PC)
Port UA (RJ11) connected to Port 8 ( UAI-8 )
Port CTI not used
Port (phone icon) not used
-----------------------------------------------------
I saw that RJ11 cable used in connection from OXO to 4093 is cross over:

1-not used
2-5
3-4
4-3
5-2
6-not used
-----------------------------------------------------

MY QUESTIONS
Opening the 4093 box I found a jumper. What is jumper's function?
4093 connections are correct?
There is an additional setting to be made in OXO?

Please help me and excuse me for my bad english!

The jumper has to be switched to other position, if the TA is in standalone configuration (no phone connected to TA).
Maybe, that's your problem - look in PM5/OMC to the state of the TA - if it's not "In Service", then you have to switch the jumper position.

This is all correct and not so difficult to remember:
Jumper pointing towards the RJ on the side of the box: a phone sholuld be connected
Jumper pointing away from the RJ on the side of the box: Stand alone

There are some other settings that sholud be taken care of as well:

In OMC (or PM5)
Counting:
Check: Ext. Accounting Activation V24
Check: Print un-answered IC calls
Type of printout: Listing
Fields: Tick all, maybe you want to leave these field unchecked: User8, Trunk4, Date in US format and Time in 12 hour format.
Select Subscriber name in the last option.

Metering Transmission Characteristics:
Select your 4093 adapter. (assign a number to this in users/Base staions list - no need for a DDI-number, just an internal one)

Users:
Details on the 4093 ASM - click V.24 button:
Part1: V24, Async, 8, none, 1, 9600, in-band, 17, 19, one, in-band,17,19
Part2: Check Input echo, Display Calling Address, 3, 43, V.25bis 108/1, Always active, Normal, RTS ign.CTS on, 0s, No Loop

On all users/subscribers:
Counting: Select All calls in Tracking.

Good luck and keep us informed :)

Hi!
My account analistapa is inactive for some reason...I asked help to admin and I am waiting...

Well...
I tried settings above but without success.

I tried too other configuration but without sucess too:

PM5 -> Metering -> Metering Printout
(x) External Metering activation
(x) Print non-unaswered calls
(x) Leased line printout
Type of printout = Listing
Language = Portuguese (Brazil)

PM5->Subscribers->V.24 Access->V.24 Part1
Interface type = V.24
Mode=Asynchronous

Transmission characteristics
Character length=8
Parity=none
Stop bits=1
Baud rate= 57600

Flow control terminal by adapter
Mode = none
Implicit no. XON-char=one

Flow control adapter by terminal
Mode=in-band
Char. on (decimal) = 17
Char. off (decimal) = 19

PM5->Subscribers->V.24 Access->V.24 Part2
Terminal management
(x) Input echo
(x) Display calling address
Escape sequence
Number of characters=3
1.Character=43
Interface signal
Comm.Port=Hayes
DSR= Inactive in rel.
DTR=Normal
RTS=RTS ign. CTS on
Inactive timeout = 0s
Loopback mode=No loop

Why sometimes 4093 V.24 adaptor is recognized in PM5 as "V.24 access" otherwise as "4093 ASM"?
