Hi,
Dummy question...I'm not very sure what's the main difference between a GD and a GD-3 board...I received one of each for my lab, and not sure what's the difference. I read that GD does not has compressors inside board, it needs armada daugthers, If this is true, the GD by itself will work?
Thanks

Re: Difference between GD an GD-3
GD:
-needs compressor daughterboards (MADA 1 - 8 compressor resources or MADA 3 - 24 compressor resources)
-supports only 3 X 3 way conferences
GD3:
- has embedded 30 compressor resources (additional 30 by ARMADA daughterboard)
- 24 X 3 way conference possible
-needs compressor daughterboards (MADA 1 - 8 compressor resources or MADA 3 - 24 compressor resources)
-supports only 3 X 3 way conferences
GD3:
- has embedded 30 compressor resources (additional 30 by ARMADA daughterboard)
- 24 X 3 way conference possible

Thanks for clarifications my friend...but still having some doubts:tot3nkopf wrote:GD:

The GD by itself won't work? is it mandatoy to have the daughterboards?
So the main purpose of the GD boards (in general) is transcoding (G729 to G711 and viceversa) and conferencing?
What do you mean exactly with conferencing 3x3? Maximum of 3 participants for each conference with a max of 3 rooms simultaneously? No more than 3 participants?
Thanks
