Does ALU support ITU-V150?

Post by pretzellogic45 »

I have an issue with a modem dialing out over an analog station port. It is connected to a MultiTech modem in a piece of IBM equipment in our data center. Sometimes it works and sends data and sometimes it doesn't. IBM has asked me whether we support ITU-V 150 recommendation. Does anyone know?

I have in my OXE Domain settings fax/modem transparency set to yes for intra and extra domain with no compression. The Z32 board is in a different crystal than the PRA-T1 board that is making and receiving the call, but both in the same domain. In the analog user I have the parameter "analog type" set to modem. Software is release 10.1.1 - patch 13f

Thanks

Remote modem is always the same or there are different destinations?
First of all how ACT's with PRA and Z32 are connected - with INTOF or INTIP?
If it is 1st case then your problem has nothing to do with MoIP (V.150) - it is good-old TDM connection from your modem to PSTN PRA equipment and it is not an OXE's problem. Could happen that in a PSTN cloud somewhere there is TDM/IP convertion takes place.

Concerning the subject:
Yes and No. V.150 describes two modes of MoIP - transparent and modem relay.
OXE only supports transparent modem over IP (with G.711 codecs, no VAD, no CNG, low latency, low packet loss).
No modem relay ever been supported by OXE.

Thanks for your reply. Remote modem is always the same. Z32 is in the main crystal shelf and PRA-T1 is in a remote common hardware shelf. Connected via Intip board. So it looks like it is "working as designed" as they say.

Exactly.
And your configuration is right .
Check your LAN - whether voice traffic between GD and INTIP meets strict requirements for the transparent modem exchanges.
When making modem call is bearer capabilty right for modem communications?
