I'm not sure if this is the proper location for this question ... please let me know if I should post elsewhere.
I have a few students/faculty that are unable to connect to the WLAN in their residences/offices, respectively.
If those same clients move to another area of campus, even walking across the street to another building where the WLAN is present, they are able to connect.
It they return to their previous location, they lose connectivity.
Both Windows and Macintosh operating system are seeing this problem.
Any ideas as to how to troubleshoot this problem?

Re: Student Inability to Connect to WLAN
in the Alcatel systems it's possible so set a exclusivity area, or maybe they machines are in the security black list, for exemple, if the try to hack the system. So, check the security logs in your wi-fi system!!!

Re: Student Inability to Connect to WLAN
I checked the security logs and found nothing to indicate black-listing or any "hacking" taking place.
I found that when I installed/introduced a newly-provisioned AP into the area, the student was able to associate & authenticate via the newly-provisioned AP.
I then re-provisioned the AP that originally was denying access to the student, returned it back into the network (removing the temporary AP) and the student was able to associate/authenticate via the re-provisioned/original AP.
Does the AP "cache" info that would keep the student from authenticating/associating?

Re: Student Inability to Connect to WLAN
did you use 802.1x or psk? With 802.1x this shouldn't occure. But also with psk .... the AP's didn't cache any informations - all the wireless traffic goes through the GRE to the OAW-controller. Have you one controller for all AP's, or is there a master-local config?

Re: Student Inability to Connect to WLAN
and is there an association with the ap where they can connect to one controller and ap where this isn't possible to an other controller? Or at one controller both ap (ap's at both sides of the street) terminated? in this case normaly your ap's in at least 3 ap-groups with differetn LMS. What are the differnences between the ap groups?
