6900 VC with 6860: VCSP helper switch Config

Hi all

I am currently implementing 6900 in VC mode as DS and 6860 in the access layer. The 6860 is running 8x release and the release notes has a very brief info about the virtual chassis split protection with 6860 as helper switch. However there is no config sample on how it should configured.

i suppose we can use the existing linkaggs from the access switch to run the remote chassis deduction protocol unlike legacy EMP method.

Just curious to know if any one here tried your hands on it. If Yes please share the config. I will test it my self this week and share if I managed to test it with success.

Hi Shab,

That is currently correct: VCSP is not supported on OS6900 today ... It will be supported in the future with an upcoming AOS Release.

Until then, I'd recommend to use a OS6450 and form a link-aggregation to it from all units of the OS6860-VC. The AOS 6.6.4.R01 already supports the "helper" function that is still missing in OS6900.

Thanks for the update, I am sorry for the late rely.

For now I am waiting for the further release and currently using EMP for the RCD.
