System Upgrade

Post by Danny B. Namoca »

Hi...

Our client has alcatel 4400 version 4.4 and uses 4035,4020 sets,z24,ua32,intof,nddi,bpra2,pra2,vg,rmab,mms fd,vpm35 and cpu5 cards. We try to install the 9 series telephone sets but unsuccessful we go to user level we didnt find such 9 series sets on the program. is it possible to upgradeto its newest version w/c is the oxe without changing the existing cards and sets except the cpu itself? Does oxe supports backward compatibility?

regards....

All you need to do is to migrate to OXE. This requires a licence, a new Hard Drive (20Mb) and possibly (depends on your current type of CPU) the change of the CPU. Contact your local provider.
You don't have to change cards or phones (they are supported by the new releases of course).

It's not possible with CPU5 - you need at least CPU5-3 with 128 MB and a 20 MB HDD is too small. 20 GB is better. :D
Furthermore it's not free of charge as you need new hardware and licences.

R4 ? That's a very old software
In order to run 9 series set you need at least R6.1 which means a major upgrade !
In other words, You need to go to R7.1 (current), software and some boards will not function in R7.1 any more. So upgrade and a resulting cost sheet will be the result. 8)
Check the GLOBAL-FEATURE-LIST of R7.1 (BP website) to know the difference as R7.1 is an OXE system while R4 was a 4400 system.
