Hi Guys,
A caller calls you and leaves you a message on your 4645 mailbox. you listen to the message and see the callers number in your display. You decide to call him/her back by pressing the appropriate soft key in your display but you do not hear any ring tone, you just hear silence. You are then connected when he/she answers.
I have a user with the above problem and he complains that he doen't know if it is ringing the callers phone! Is there a way around this problem? I have heard this myself in front of the user. He is using a 4034 handset connected to OXE version 7.1 common hardware.
TIA..

Re: Calling back a caller who leaves you a message on 4645
Hi knightr1der,
On my lab I've tested your issue (I have R 6.2 though): when calling back a user or ext nb who leaves a message on 4645 in the ringing phase I hear Music on Hold (which is programmed on my system).
Check if you have this programmed or if your waiting guide or tone.
Regards.

Thank you very much for taking the time to check this for me tot3.
I will check with the customer if they hear music. Now that you come to mention it, I think they do hear music.
I will come back to you with the response. However, in the meanwhile, is it possible so that you can hear what is actually happening during the callback phase, FE.. Ring tone, busy tone etc..?

I can confirm the customer hears the system Music.
Can this be changed so you can hear the real 'progress' tone?

I assume that if you change the music on hold music/tone to ringing tone they can hear that (try to find out if they use music on hold, because they will hear on hold the progress tone, too). I'll try to find another way, but for the time being you can try this solution.
Regards.

Yes but won't this affect the whole system, so even callers ringing in to the switchboard will hear ringing tone when placed on hold? In fact I have set the system to play the wonderful Alcatel MOH (adpcmmoh file)tot3nkopf wrote:I assume that if you change the music on hold music/tone to ringing tone they can hear that (try to find out if they use music on hold, because they will hear on hold the progress tone, too).
Much appreciated my friendtot3nkopf wrote:I'll try to find another way, Regards.
