4760 client v5.2 couldn't connect to pbx

Post by zetor2000 »

Hi

I just installed 4760 client 5.2 to a windows 7 x64 enterprise pc.
We have no domain controller, so i modified the DNS suffix, and changed the proper workgroup settings. IP address is fixed for clients / servers in the network. I entered the server parameters in hosts file.
After the first startup, the client said that couldn't connect to server. I tried to enter the name of the server, later the ip address, but it can't connect.

Any idea?

Thanks

I forgot to mention, there is no firewall, no antivirus solution that could block the connection.
I can browse the server's shares, i can ping the server's IP / name, etc...

4760 client v5.2 couldn't connect to pbx

Post by tgn »

Server and Client must be reachable each other by name (dns - fqdn). Maybe that's the problem?

When you start Client application on server (not on client PC) - you have no problem (4760 works?)?

Vad: Yes, my 4760 server works perfect, i have 2-3 client pc, i have a license of maximum of 4 simultaneous connection.

tgn: I can connect to the server by typing its name, and i can connect to client from the server by typing its name. But this sessions are Windows remote desktop and file sharing services, I suppose the 4760 client has a different function...

I modified the hosts file in the windows/system32/drivers/etc folder, and put a dns suffix to the computer name (because this network does not belongs to a domain), as i mentioned in the first post.
I have log file, but now i am at home, tomorrow i can post a log.

As far as i remember, the log file contains some info that a certificate is missing, or it is not correct.

I reinstalled my client pc, it runs a clean install of windows 7 x64 / enterprise, and nothing else. It recognises my pc (it is rather old). I installed the 4760 client, and tried to start the app, but the same thing happens...
I changed the PC to another (a different pc, but it is older than the previous -its components was recognised by windows 7 too) and the same thing happened...
Is it possible that my 4760 broken?
