working - certified

Post by daac84 »

hello

if I can help, please, right now I'm in a project with a swtich Alcatel, really have little handled these teams (usually use cisco) on the equipment documentation I do not have something clear and is as follows:

It has 3 settings files where one is saved certified - other is working - and another is running, according to this I could clarify:

runing is the one running the team to make any changes, if saved should be saved in the working and after working a certified ??

since the file starts to take its configuration working or certified?

if certified working and are not the same at startup in certified?

there is a configuration to apply the boot always do it on certified working and never about ??

thanks

note: for example, handled cisco config running - config startup, simply apply any changes and keep the startup config.

sorry but my English is not good and google translator is not very good

RTFM?
SW-Guide chapter 5 page 6

- running is "in memory" config as running at cisco.

Working/certified has no equivalent in cisco:
- if the switch is booting it will check if working and certified directorys (images and config) are identical -> if yes it will switch to "working" mode you can do changes and write/save your configs.
- if directorys are different it will boot the certified image/config and disallows saving (while modifying running is permitted)

If you are running from working and want to bve sure that after a reboot/powerloss you keep your changes do a
write memory flash-synchro
which saves running to working and then copys working to certified (and does this an all stack members)
