4635 Backup and simple question

Hello,

I have a 4635 , VPU5 card and I want to perform a backup on this, I am rely beginner on this card.
I do not have any idea how I have to connect on this.
I need just a simple info regarding how can I have access on this card.

I appreciate a little support or if it is some guide

In order to enable backup you ned to connect the card to ethernet (and of course manage IP parameters via serial connection).

You have right, this is the hard problem. I took out one cable from one cpu and I attached to VPU, from top to down start with pin 17. The network led with sign 100 on VPU appear up. Next step suppose to have an IP ? . The old technician did not leave me nothing regarding this. And on 24 this month the VM will be out.
I need to create this backup from vpu5

Do you have a sereial connection to the vm?

I tryed different serial connection, ( v24 to Alcatel, RJ45 to Alcatel)

Right now I have access on VPU5 via one serial. I build a cable from from alcatel to laptop with BD9 . On the alcatel I was connected on the top of connector pin 1 to 7.
I have access in my laptop via hiperterminal...appear a promt with VPx35:
I use for login mtcl with mtcl and another windosw was opened ...but with some command similar like command prompt.
Still I used that cable from CPU for network connection on VPU% ( led 100 stil blinking).
Again I am stuckt

Sorry I am very far and the network it is a close network.

then only a businesspartner can help you. you need the password to configure the VM over serial conection so it has an ip to get the backup.
But regarding the 24 November problem a backup won´t help you, the VM need new firmware (5.6.5 is the last one if i remember right). And this firmware will only work if your oxe release is greater than R9.

I will received the new hdd with new firmware installed.
I have a list with 3 password . but I do not know from where I have to use this: The list are like this with user, number and password(two manager and one director).MY oxe it is 9.1. The backup if I understand well it is for mailboxes and messages for to be restored on the new HDD.

That strange commands are from suse linux, right now I try to find the command from find the IP address.
