Searching a device by MAC address with 8770 or Telnet ?

Post by Spathate »

Hello,

The CS incident log shows MAC addresses and I can't remember how to locate the corresponding device.
I have tried with the Telnet/mgr/user and user/user tsp ip, I find nothing.
I have tried with the Omnivista and it's the same, I haven't read "MAC address" anywhere I'd searched.

Am I tired or it's something normal ?

Please, how can I know what equipment or phone number is corresponding to a particular MAC address ?

Thanks in advance.
Regards

Hi,

Welcome to the forum.

You can try:
ippstat list all | grep <mac address> (or just the first part to see all connected)

Rgds.

You can do an easy mac search in 8770. easiest way is to go to oje user open TSC/IP and than right click on New grid and than delete the directory number in search field and second search field you select mac Adress. (You have to put in mac adress in lower case 00:80:9f)

Thanks a lot.

The grep filter doesn't work after an "ippstat list all" but it helped.
Thanks too, doublezero, I cannot have a result but the method is new for me and I'll go into it in depth later.

It is working. You just need to press enter continuously until you get a return. ippstat list all returns fragmented information (auto stops and requires return action)

ippstat list all | grep 00:80:9f:e2:2e:09
