Question about call forwarding

Post by messias »

Hello,
I'm new in here so be gentle to me please :)
Iam facing a problem in my office and I'm trying to find a solution.
My office PABX is an old 4400 omniPCX, and all telephones are 4010 Lucent.
Now all telephone lines can be called as internal or external lines.
Let's say we have lines 111,112 and 113.
If 112 calls 111, and 113 tries to call 111 too, it receives a busy tone. Thats ok. But if someone is trying to call 111from external line (lets say from my home) then the line is forwarded to another internal (114).
I tried to change call forward, from dynamic state user, but all forwards are disabled (no forward)
It seems that forward on busy is enabled but only for external calls.
How can I disable this forward? Will deleting/creating again this user solve the problem?

Any help is appreciated,
Thank you

Hi Messias,

Welcome to Alcatel ;)
I hope deleting and creating the user will not resolve the issues unless it is problem with the memory.
I guess that there is some configuration that is making the call to be forwarded to the other users if the extension is busy.

Can you check below:
1) find the public network COS for that particular user and then under mgr>class of service> public network cos, scroll down all the parameters and check if the overflow of busy is set to '1'.
2) Is overflow configured in the entity? if so remove it.

Let me know the outcome.

Vikas

Thanks for the reply Vickas!
The plroblem solved after deleting and creating the user again.
I checked though if overflow of busy is set to 1 as you said, but it was set to 0.
Thanks anyway!

Not good if you not find the problem. In next time you can have the same problem.
Usually problem in such case - with Public Network COS, Phone feature COS, Entity (CDT), hunt group (when user in HG - he has entity and public network COS from HG).

When you delete and create user - he will be deleted from HG (f.e.), after creating - he has Public Network COS=2, phone feature COS=0, entity =1 (by default, if you not change this item during creation).

Thanks vad!
I don't have much knowledge in Alcatel, and I had to find a solution at that time.
So if the problem was in public network cos, or in the entity or even in the hunt group, then I suppose that I will face the same problem again with some other users, right? As there are 400-450 users in this pbx. I mean that this is not a problem of one particular user, right?

I cannot say exactly - this problem with one user or not. F.e. if one user has specific Phone feature or Public Network COS - problem can be just with one user.
Or f.e. - if in Dynamic state user just for user 111 has declared associated number 114 - problem can be with one user.
In your case - I think problem was with Public Network (Access) COS^
- for user 111 was declared Public Network COS where DID overflow on total busy was 1.
- number 114 was declared as associated number (Dynamic state user parameters for 111) or on Entity CDT (overflow routing number or Night/Day routing number).

And (in additional) - I think - it was not forwarding (forwarding and destination in Dynamic state) but overflow (this feature not the same).
