Analog extension issue after Bascul

Post by muhammad hadi »

Dear All,
Hope you all are find and doing well.Today I came across a problem.I have OXE Crystal with 2XCPU7-2 rel 11.0.1.Issue I faced is that whenever I bascul and shifts the traffic from one cpu to other I get a complain for about 4 to 5 analog number that they have stopped working. When I check in through termstat d command I can see the state Out of Service. So I reset the device with tremstat d and than it worked fine.

Plz tell me what could be the reason of this? How anyone of you come across the same issue?

Waiting for your response..

Thanks

Hi,

I had a similar issue with whole boards that lose connection. There could be several reasons.
Are there any entries in incvisu when you do a bascul?
Are you sure before the bascul that the CPUs are synchronized? You can check with the twin command.
Maybe a mastercopy is required, because the second cpu was offline for too long
Could be a software bug. Are you using the latest patch of 11.0.1? The current patch is static patch 44. No dynamic patch.

Best regards.

May be SW bug. May be some problem with CPU-CPU communication.
For Shelf 0 - managed (and used) Ethenet signaling (not Nx64)?
Present or not some incident from stand-by CPU.
After bascul (shutdown etc.) - do you use CPU cloning/mastercopy or just start both CPU?

Dear Dartzen and Vad,,,Thanks for your respective responses.
@Dartzen ,Yes the release is 11.0.1 and the patch is not the patch 44 but older 1.CPUs are well synchronized and I can see all the 5 in READY.

@vad, Dear...Can you please guide me how can I check the signalling is ethernet but not Nx64 and after bascul i dont run the master copy every time...Please suggest

Thanks and waiting for your reply...

management (mgr or OmniVista) Shelf 0 - item Signalling Mode. For CPU7 recommended "Ethernet". For old CPU/releases was used Nx64 (signalling between CPUs via C1 link).
Masteropy - each time, when one CPU was out of services some time (f.e. after bascul, switch-off or system reboot after long time working).
F.e. if system was switched off (or one processor was switch off, or system reboot after long time working) I'm use next procedures:
- start one CPU (for me preferable CPU was main before). Check system.
- if Ok - start second CPU without TEL application running (disabled auto start or supress TEL start via console port).
- run mastercopy (f.e. from second CPU - swinst/ expert menu/ CPU cloning/ cloning database - use Ethernet, cloning everything except Linux data and start telephony after cloning)
- not forget set auto start (if auto start was unset.
