Alternative to vlan yyy binding ip-port xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 1/3

Post by KCler »

Hello There,

we just bought ne switches to replace some really old 6602 ones.
Up to now we used the vlan xxx binding ip-port xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 4/3 to allow some users to just use this one ip-address on this mentioned port. (vlan is mobile and moves from dummy vlan to right one if correct ip is used).

This binding command seems to be gone :o

-> vlan 2000 ?
<cr> 1X1 802.1Q DHCP DISABLE ENABLE FLAT IP MAC MOBILE-TAG MTU-IP NAME NO PORT PROTOCOL ROUTER
SOURCE-LEARNING STP <vlan1-vlan2> <vid> (Vlan Command Set)

Machine is a Alcatel-Lucent OS6450-P24 6.6.5.176.R02 GA

Is there a simple (even workaround) to deal with this? Maybe an alternative (i haven'T found in manual)

Thanks Guys. KCler

Hi,
you are looking for vlan-rule. In cli-guide you will find it in chapter Port Mobility Commands. The ports has to be mobile and there are a lot of rules (and bindings rules):

Code: Select all

vlan port mobile 1/1-10
vlan 10 ip x.x.x.x
But I am not sure if you can bind ip and port together. you have to test it by yourself :)

Hello Silvio,

thx for your reply. Coulb be a solution if the rule is attachable in some way to a single port. (only access if IP correct for the specified port).

I just read another possibility is (maybe) to go on with UNP (Access Guardian) rules... I newer used this stuff, so maybe I'll find a simple example which i can try to understand.
And I still haven'f found out if it is already built in my 6450 devices or if i have to buy another product to use it :(

What is the goal of your wished config? If I understand the old config correct, than you have static Ip at your clients and you make a fix association of one client-ip to a switch port. Is this correct?

Hello Sivio,

yes, what u said is correct. FixedIP for, defined, FixedPort (users in appartment house with own machines/routers, also to prevent double-IPs in this network, to obtain if they have paid internet, and so on... you know, pain)

It is a leftover and is planned to be removed by other solution (of course with dynamic stuff).

Problem is, my 6602 are about to die, so i need a quick solution to have a temporarely workaround. I haven't thought alcatel removes features like this so silently.... Murphys law.
