Handover Problems

Post by pgemelgo »

Im having a problem where a client has indoor IBS base stations and IBS outdoor base stations and when client walks around handover does not work. The caller is put on hold when signal lost from base station and then when the DECT registers to new base station then caller put through again. Its a OXE Common Hardware Rel 8.0.1

Any advise?

Thanks

Seems that the handset loses his signal for a while. How is your coverage of the IBS base stations?
If you put a dectset in testmode, do you have enough signal everywhere between the two base stations?
Are the base stations located in one Mediagateway or spread over several mediagateways?

I believe that they might be spread over different media gateways, could this be a problem?
The coverage is all in order and when we did the survey we made sure that the signals overlap each other.
Just so that we do it proparly how do we put a DECT into test mode, because we use the DECT as a normal user and walk the area to see coverage?

You will have problem with handover if IBS connected to different media gateway (connected via IP).
No problem for TDM connection - f.e. if you have main shelf and two expansion shelfs (connected via MEX board).
For test mode - when handset switched off, press simultaneously the three keys "End" (Red handset), "Directory" (book), "On/off" (power on). After - long key press "9".

VAD, thanks for that, so basically, if Im using a GD on both remote shelves I have a problem? I should then move the base stations to be on one shelf.

I will try the test mode when on site again

Thanks
