I'm making demo lab for customer with OTUC r4 uder linux. server, preinstall and postinstall conditions meets alcatel requirements. we got trial keys from businesspartner site:
after installation launch audit of license - none is allowed??? i have some checks previuosly with trial key uder OTUC r3 - they work, so i have some experience with setting up keys for flexlm. But now - KO!
trial key non empty, but there missed line about OTUC release. I compare alcotuc.lic from r3 and r4 - difference is in this line.
Is here expert for OTUC? please, can you explain - is it necessary to have this string in license file to start OTUC work...

What does the FLEXlm log indicates?
/opt/FLEXlm/lmlog.log

where is no such file in this path, search with @whereis lmlog.log@ gives no result...

Well you MUST replace the line:

SERVER this_host ANY

with:

SERVER office-perm.intersyst.ru ANY

make sure that on the Linux box when you do:

host office-perm
and
host office-perm.intersyst.ru

both can resolve the name to ip ok, this should be working or you couldn't install OTUC on first place.

Is your License Server Service well configured??

OTUC was installed in tutorial mode, license file located at path:

/opt/Alcatel/FlexLM/alcotuc.lic (you can see it in my posts)

in service manager was configured ip address of license server - (same machine with OTUC) and path to license file exactly same, as it shows in lmstat -a....

have you any test setup and check my license file?

OTUC start normally at first sight... but with warning on first page - wrong version license file and it cant start some applications because it found missed licenses.

we send request to alcatel tech support and ask them simply verify content of license file and reply was "you have no OTUC ACSE, so you have no right to ask question"
i'm ACSE 4635 and brand new ACIPS
thatâ€™s it baby ^( no complain.

If lmstat shows all ok then license is ok, the problem will be from License Server.
If you can't put a ticket ask your commercial area to request support, they will be able to help you.

Without a direct access to the box is hard to tell what can be happening

last news from my side.
i make an expirement: put instead of current key file an old demo keys from issued at august 2005. of cause most of keys where expiered... but after ./lmreread and restart of flexlmd service and launching audit now i have 5 lecenses for My Assistant, My Messaging and Softphone 4980. even possible create user for this applications... nothig has been done with OTUC server, i don't make any change in software.... just put good old keys form release 3 of OTUC.
after what, once again put current aclotuc.lic form BP and do same thing - ./lmreread and restart flexlmd. launch audit - and saw nothing - no available licenses for any application.
what's why i think what problem with key file....
of cause i can try My Assistant, Messaging and 4980 from old keys, but we want to see Teamwork and XML....

Teamwork is a different story. Even it's included on the license it's not used, TEamwork is a separated Server and need a separated licenses as well, one for the VMWare Virtual Machine and one for Teamwork itself.

Will try to make a OTUC4 box and see what happen with your license.
Weird that you say that a version 3 licenses work, they shouldn't.
