Hello
I have a 6400 with to sfp ports enabled. I have made a good connection on those ports because their leds are blinking but I can´t get internet on the other switches(two 6200) so my question is, do I have to configure this sfp ports or something like that? Until this far I have only configured 1 VLAN on the core switch(6400) but this is my first experience dealing with sfp ports so any help is welcome.
A novice question on sfp ports

Re: A novice question on sfp ports
Should be no problem if you just interconnect them. No configuration is needed normally. Please note that the SFP slots are shared with the first 4 copper ports. You can only use one (copper or fiber) at the time.
You say that you only have one vlan (vlan 1) on the 6400. But what about the other switches? Are those equipped with one vlan too?
If possible, post the configs so it makes the setup more clear.
Also post the output of "Show interface status" and "show vlan ports"

Re: A novice question on sfp ports
Hey thank you very much for your time.
I havent configured anything on the other switches, The information of the first two ports on the 6400 is very valueable because there is my mistake.
Just another novice question, are the 6200s comands the same as the commands on the 6400 ?
And yes, definitely I´ll copy those commands you said.
Again thank you so much jlettnick.

Re: A novice question on sfp ports
Hi 20deoctubre, please note that the first four (4) ports are shared, not two. The same goes for the OS6200 series. They have shared ports too (port 13 and 14 on a 12 port switch, port 25 and 26 if a 24 port switch, port 49 and 50 on a 48 port switch).
The command line of the Omnistack OS-LS62xx series is not the same as on the Omniswitch series. Also there might be confusion because there is also an Omniswitch 6250 series of switches.
What model do you have? The omnistack OS-LS-62xx commandline is more similar to the one Cisco (and other vendors) use.
and your welcome

Re: A novice question on sfp ports
Hey jlettinck
I already have internet in my 6200s switches. In fact my issue was exactly what you told me(about the shared ports), so thank you very much for your help with that issue.
And about the line commands on 6200 that is too bad to hear, I was just beggining to feel confortable with the 6400 jaja.
