Re: hard drives
HD contains the OS of OXO, which is a Linux. Of course you need to Lola it.

Re: hard drives
OS is still in flash memory, HD is used for extra storage of voicemail, internet and email stuf.. (with cpu 3 and 3m this is) With CPU 1 and SW version 5 or 6 the flash is bootloader and continues loading from HD.
After Lola an emergency file is written to flash so you should be able to call even if the HD fails (again with CPU 3 or 3m).

Re: hard drives
hi,
with a sw release 5.x and higher, you can just plug in the hd, start the system and make a reboot after that.
at startup, linux formats the hd automatically. the os is only on the flash memory.
so, if you just have voicemail extension or automatic attendant, just shutdown the system, plug your hd and start the system again. at first start, the system will take a bit longer. after the boot you have reboot again, that the hd can be used.
But with a CPUe-X, the os is also on the hd and you have to lola.
