Fast busy cadence of Alcatel OmniPCX Office
About ALCATEL OmniPCX Office
Release 5
I am trying to find the "fast busy" cadence, of the internal analog ports (also called "disconnect tone" or "reorder tone").
We have to connect an external GSM gateway to an analog extension of the PBX, so this cadence is necessary for a proper line disconnect.
If somebody happens to know the fast busy on/off times, i would appreciate.

Re: Fast busy cadence of Alcatel OmniPCX Office
What GSM are you using ?
I have one in the US who works directly ..
Also, the cadense will depend on your country.

Re: Fast busy cadence of Alcatel OmniPCX Office
1) About the model:
The model i am using is CGW-D, the vendor is ITS Telecom (http://www.its-tel.com).
But we have tested with similar models from other vendors. The problem is the same.
All the devices that we have tested, have provision in their command set (or GUI interface) for the following times:
Busy on, Busy off, Fast busy on, Fast busy off (in msec),
so seems like the vendors know that the installer has to define those times.
2) A detailed description of the problem.
As said, the GSM gateway is connected to an internal analog extension of the PBX. It's main function is to be used by the PBX users for outgoing calls to mobile subscribers. In principle it works, but here's the problem:
an internal PBX user calls the gateway, then dials the outgoing mobile number. The called party's mobile starts ringing, but the called party does not answer.
So after a while, the internal PBX user hangs up.
The call does not get disconnected at the GSM gateway. If somebody else tries to dial through the GSM gateway, line is busy.
(also, the called party's mobile keeps ringing and ringing...).
so the GSM gateway does not "understand" that there was a "hang up" from the internal PBX side.
3) About country setup
We are located in Greece. And yes, the PBX is delivered with Greek firmware.
Thanks for caring, i would appreciate any assistance on the above issue.

Re: Fast busy cadence of Alcatel OmniPCX Office
You can find a Technical Documentation pdf file on the Alcatel BusinessPartner Web Site about the Noteworthy addresses. (The number of Tech Com file: 80)
End of this file there is a table with definition of all tones and beeps used in OXO.

Re: Fast busy cadence of Alcatel OmniPCX Office
Dear Steve,
I don't have the URL of this website.
Besides, i don't have access to such an area since our company is not an authorised alcatel partners.
We are the distributor for the PBX peripherals (voice-mail systems, GSM gateways, PBX door-phones, call recording solutions) of ITS Telecom.
I'm just trying to assist my Alcatel resellers, to integrate those peripherals into OXO. (unfortunately the assistance to them from the official Greek distributor is minimal)
I would appreciate if somebody can provide me with the file you mention, or a free area to download it.
Thanks for your understanding.

Re: Fast busy cadence of Alcatel OmniPCX Office
Hi,
If you give me your email I will email it to you, also I believe you should have the GSM gatway in an analogue trunk not an interface, and put the gatway in a trunk group. eg; 460.

Re: Fast busy cadence of Alcatel OmniPCX Office
Thanks everybody
i finally got the relative documentation and we worked our way out.
Here are the cadences, in case somebody else needs them:
Busy ON: 300 msec
Busy OFF: 300 msec
Disconnect (congestion) ON: 200 msec
Disconnect (congestion) OFF: 500 msec
The above refers to Greek country setting of OmniPCX Office.
