Visual Messenger TCP - what TCP port to use?

Post by teddyd »

Our Visual Messenger server is going bad, so I tried to re-install Visual Messenger from a zip file backup of the CD (which I cannot find). If I just do an 'upgrade' rather than new installation, almost everything is answered for me, except for the TCP PORT NUMBER. I have tried 143, 25, 23 but the service will not initialize. I don't think SPX is an option (it didn't work, that is). Please look up a running Visual Messenger installation, or if there is a .CNF or .CFG file that shows the configuration, maybe that would tell what the TCP PORT number might be.

I found out by attempting a new installation on another computer, that the TCP port is 8100. No further assistance is needed at this time. Thanks for being there, though.
