4018 Phones on OpenTouch

Post by huntsman »

Hi all,

I am trying to get the 4018EE handsets to work as an OpenTouch extension. I have changed the phone to SIP mode, and configured the DHCP with the OXE. The doco is incorrect in relation to the vendor id, as it should be alcatel.sip.0. I have changed this and filled in the tftp address as well being the OT server. The information is passed to the handset ok, but it comes back and says 'no reponse from tftp server'. The tftp address is correct within the DHCP and if I configure the phone manually using https it works fine. It does not seem to like the tftp method but I am unable to change to https this when using DHCP. Anyone have any ideas?

Requirement is 4008 sip stack in 2.11.68
Previous version is not compliant
Several workaround

Use static ip and fill dm parameter

Use windows dhcp and fill option 43 : https://ip optentouch/ dmictouch

use a tftp free server, place all file you have in ot server $CMS _HOME/devicedeployment/SIPTouch

Start 4008 in noe
In oxe specify a sip survivability : noe an sip binary will be updated

Do not forget on ot to use Deploy action from WBM admin , certificate section.

Hi Corwin,

thanks for the info. I have now pushed new binaries to the 4018 via the 8770 deployment option, and it now can use dhcp and download the files using https. All working fine.

thanks for the help.
