ports on multiple vlans

Post by hombrezuelo »

Hi brothers, I´m pretty new on Alcatel Switchs, so I have a doubt about vlan configuration. It´s possible to configure a port for example the port 7 to be member of vlan 7,8,9,10 ?

Also I´d like to know weather exists a kind of Alcatel´s cock book or something like that.

Thanks in advance.

That question has been answered. Trunk port I think is the answer. Search the forum
About the cookbook maybe the help command?

Hi cavagnaro

I´ll give a try to the trunk port. About the cockbook is something like the different ways to implementing the switch.

Thanks for answering.

Jah bless you.

I know what a cookbook is, but as networks can be so extremely different I doubt that it would make any sense. That is why the "help" command will show you commands and you apply them according to your needs

hi cavanaro, I was looking for port trunk and I typed the command:

vlan 3 802.1q 1/32

and I got this error message.
ERROR: 1/32 is mobile port, can't be tagged

Is there something that I missed?

Thanks for your help

A mobile port can't be part of a Trunk. First you need to un-mobile it and then add to trunk

Thanks for answering cavagnaro, I was reading about vlan mobile and I think this is what i need, so I didn´t get how to add more vlans to my port 7, this is what I have in my configuration:

-> show vlan port mobile 1/7
Mobility : on,
Config Default Vlan: 2,
Default Vlan Enabled: on,
Default Vlan Restore: on,
Authentication : off,
Ignore BPDUs : off
Ingress Filtering : off

In the below sample I can see the port 1/4 is member of VLANs 3,4,5

show vlan port
vlan port type status
------+-------+---------+-------------
1 0/1 default forwarding
1 0/2 default forwarding
2 1/3 default forwarding
3 1/4 default forwarding
4 1/4 mobile forwarding
5 1/4 mobile forwarding
5 1/7 default forwarding
5 1/8 default forwarding

-> show vlan port 1/4
vlan type status
--------+---------+--------------
3 default forwarding
4 mobile forwarding
5 mobile forwarding

-> show vlan port 1/7
vlan type status
--------+---------+--------------
5 default forwarding

Thanks for your time and consideration

I think should be

Code: Select all

vlan X port 1/7
where X is your VLAN
