Replacing Phone set

I have been trying to replace a dead hand set when I type the station number into the new and set it displayed Feature rejected

Which type of set? If IP then first you must clean the Mac address

the phone is an IP touch 4018 and im replacing it with the same unit. How do i clear the mac of the old unit out?
