Alcatel 4004 - Function code for customization

Greetings,

I have no idea where to put this topic so I hope it'll be moved by someone later.

I found a manual for 4004 and I'm trying to reduce the volume because it's way to loud. The manual says: lift receiver, CODE FOR FUNCTION 'CUSTOMIZATION', 3, 1 (press repeatedly on) and then '2' (choose volume), # and hang up.

I cannot find any table with function codes for Alcatel 4004. I found something for 4003 - Switch to programming code: 800 but when I enter this one I can hear nothing..

I'm sure this is the right manual, however, I have no idea what this customization code is. I can't find it anywhere.

4004 - it's a telephone set, but manual - not just for phone but for phone for PBX (OXO, OXE?).
