OXE r8.0 database
hi,
OXE R8.0 has 2 database in the system, one is existing, the other is just newly created DB, when i try to restore (via swinst) the newly created database, the system always takes the existing database... does R8.0 has this kind of behavior?
im a newbie...
thanks

Re: OXE r8.0 database
If you have a backup of your old database you must upload it using ftp.
In an windows command prompt use:
cd "directory path in which you have your old mao-acc"
ftp "adress of your OXE"
user: mtcl
pass: your password for mtcl account
cd /usr4/BACKUP/IMMED
bin
send mao-acc
by
Then in swinst you can use restore.
Maybe it would be better for you to get help from your provider.
Regards.

Re: OXE r8.0 database
The system will restore whatever is in /usr4/BACKUP/IMMED
If you have 2 DB in this folder, I never tried that. So I'm waiting for you to give me the answer..

1. previous db
2. Newly created empty db
What does system will restore? 1 or 2?

Re: OXE r8.0 database
I think this is a false problem easy to avoid. Simply put just the database you want to recover in the IMMED directory and get the other one to your laptop HDD. In this way you wouldn't need ask yourself these kind of questions.

Patients is a virtue my green furry friend. The original poster put is hands up and acknowledged he has little, or, no knowledge on the subject with the "I'm a newbie" comment.tot3nkopf wrote:...you wouldn't need ask yourself these kind of questions.
Lets see what he comes back with from my post. Meanwhile, i suggest you help me find out how the monkey turned in to a dog! Collaboration is the only way we will crack that 'nut'
