Release and Microsoft OCS 2007
Hi everybody,
I´m a newbie. We have a OmniPCX 4400 at our company and I was wondering if somebody can tell me if it´s possible to upgrade the 4400 to a release that can nativly talk with the OCS (Mediation Server). I have searched the forum but didn´t find anything. I´ve also searched google but the only possible way I found is to get a media gateway (audiocodes or dialogic).
Any advice is highly appreciated.

Re: Release and Microsoft OCS 2007
What are you trying to do ? Link the 2 systems together or convert the 4400 to OCS ?
- Link the 2 systems together ? will only be possible with SIP and knowing that MS SIP <> standardized SIP it will very difficult to connect them (Try a POC
)
- Convert 4400 to OCS ? Forget it. As OCS is brand new with not a lot features you will have to wait a bit to be able to have those from a 4400.
I understand you don't find anything as it is brand new (doing the POC's ourselves at this moment
and I have 1 thing to say = Welcome to the MS world full of cr*$%!!!%
)

hi,
we are trying to link the two systems together. What is a POC? The only way I found is to link the two worlds together is via a Media Gateway.

Re: Release and Microsoft OCS 2007
POC = Proof of concept.
This means roughly a lab test with both systems to try out all the features between the systems.
In your case an OXE system with SIP trunking connected to the OCS with SIP trunking.
Of course you will need knowledge of both systems and I have to admit OCS isn't easy too
Looks more like programming instead of configuring a Pabx.

Re: Release and Microsoft OCS 2007
What Version are you running on the OXE? We don´t want to upgrade our system couse we don´t understand why we should pay for something that doesn´t bring anything to our employes. That´s not my personal position
So you are trying to link the two systems together via SIP. Do you want to connect this new IP phones from lg-nortel or polycom (OCS certified) to the OCS and make a callout to the local phonelines via the OXE?

Re: Release and Microsoft OCS 2007
May I know what gateway server are you running with ?
For this kind of configurations to work, you normally need a media gateway server or a mediator in between to do the SIP trunking and connections.
I have one customer side which is currently running Dialogic Media Gateway Server DMG2000 connecting to Microsoft OCS and Panasonic KX-TDA 100 (but it seems that it's not suceesful)
As far as I know, Alcatel has been succesfully done integrating it.
Most of them are using E1 & T1 to connect using NPRAE or PRA2 to connect to the gateway server. For SIP, i'm not too sure, but is it more of a direct integrations ? or does it go through any third party devices ?
Coz I also need to know if SIP trunking is possible with Microsoft OCS server & dialogic media Gateway (instead of using T1 or E1). Then I can assist my reseller to complete this project with Alcatel PBX and not using Panasonic PBX system.

Re: Release and Microsoft OCS 2007
Uh...ok Genesys here?
OXE and OCS (MOC) can be integrated using a SIP TRUNK on OXE side. OCS (not Genesys OCS) will be an external gateway for OXE.
Apart from this MyTeamwork can also integrate with OCS so you can have all TW functionalities on a new tab of the MOC window, also using SIP trunks.

Re: Release and Microsoft OCS 2007
Genesys OCS? Or Microsoft Office Communicator (Office Communicator Server)?
Genesys, I see no idea for the integration (??)
OCS works since r7 of TW.
banfield, can you please detail more your post?
