We're encountering an issue with Layer 2 Multicast functionality on our network, impacting IPTV delivery across building.
Here's a breakdown of the problem:
IPTV devices are acquiring IP addresses from the DHCP server but are unable to connect to the main server for content.
The main server is reachable (pingable) from both the core and access switches, indicating the issue is specific to multicast traffic
OS6360/OS6650 multicast config
ip multicast admin-state enable
ip multicast querying enable
ip multicast zapping enable
ip multicast querier-forwarding enable
ip multicast vlan 1140 admin-state enable
ip multicast vlan 1140 zapping enable

Need assistance in order to resolve this issue. thanks
Re: Layer 2 Multicast Issue OS6360-OS6560
Hi,
I understand all your IPTV-devices in the same vlan. So no routing is necessary. Correct?
And all your switches have an ip interface in this vlan. So one of them is the querier (check with "show ip multicast querier" at all switches).
Try to find the issue step by step:
1. direct connection (or via a stupid switch) your main server and iptv-client. Does it work?
2. than over one switch with the given config. Does it work?
....
There are also a lot of troubleshooting commands to find the reason. All of them starts with "show ip multicast...."

Re: Layer 2 Multicast Issue OS6360-OS6560
hi Silvio
1. direct connection (or via a stupid switch) your main server and iptv-client. Does it work?
its connected through server from switch. even iptv client in the same switch not working. both are pingable from switch but the iptv client not able to connect to the main server. when the server from switch disconnect from network its start working.
2. than over one switch with the given config. Does it work?
yes, when disconnect from network its working
i am sharing snapshot for Server form , core switch and one of the access switch. please check
IPTV server are connected to server-form switch.

Re: Layer 2 Multicast Issue OS6360-OS6560
Sorry - I haven't fully understand.
Does it work if Server and client are connected at a stupid switch (or omniswitch with multicast disabled)?
If this is working than use the omniswitch with enabled multicast. Your output about the querier shows that in every vlan there is at least one querier (very important). CPU means this switch offers the querier - port x/x means the querier is connected there.
Please use the other commands:
show ip multicast source / group /forward / bridge /bridge-forward
What do you mean with "yes, when disconnect from network its working"?

yes, its working
i disable multicast on all other vlans and keep it enable for management and iptv vlan only.
now its working but i will keep monitor for one day and will update you if there is any issue.

Re: Layer 2 Multicast Issue OS6360-OS6560
normaly this shouldn't an association. If multicast is global activated than it is at all vlans.
If the stream is standing for more than 250 sec. all is okay
This are your iptv-streams: 230.40.50.x ?
With show ip mc group you see the MC-clients (sending out the igmp messages).
With the forward-commands you see the forwarded mc-stream from server to clients.
