Post by stich86 »

Hi guys,

finally i've got all files to upgrade my switches :)

I've successfully upgraded all OS6360/6560 to latest 8.10R2 (with both FPGA and U-Boot), now last switches to upgrade is my core stack.

This is the current situation:

Code: Select all

> show hardware-info

on these two switches i've also two 12 port 10GB modules.

Is the procedure the same as other switches, or I've to take particular attention to something else?

Thanks in advance!

Seems like its the same yes.
Some switches have CPLD/ONIE instead of FPGA/Uboot but that doesn't seem to be your case, so the procedure is the same for that model.
An example of a CPLD/ONIE output:

Code: Select all

Chassis 1
CPU Manufacturer : Intel
CPU Model : Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU C3558 @ 2.20GHz
Compact Flash Manufacturer : ATA
Compact Flash size : 16776077312 bytes
RAM size : 8048320 kB
CPLD 1 Version : 6.0
CPLD 2 Version : 6.0
FAN CPLD Version : 3.1
CPU CPLD Version : 6.0
CPU CPLD Type : 5M1270
ONIE Version : 2019.08.00.03
Power Supplies Present : 1,2
NIs Present : 1,-

So I can directly jump form 8.6 to 8.10 without any intermediate firmware?

You should be able to, yes.
At least, personally, I never had any issues going from any version to any version in the past! But obviously I haven't tested every single combination :)
Worst case scenario, you always rollback in case there's a problem.

sorry just another question:

because it's a stack composed by two switched, I've to copy manually the working directory from sw1 to sw2?

If everything is fine after microcode update, I can do a copy running working flash-synchro that should copy the working to certified for both switched, but on first reload i'm missing the part to update the "running" directory on the other member

Thanks!

EDIT: looks like that "reload from working no roll-back timeout" will copy the working image to the other switches :)

So guys.. I've got the image upgrade from support, but it's an ISSU image, while my switch is running normal mode.
Do I need to ask a normal image to the support?

Thanks!

within the zip-file for issu there is the same *.img-file. For issu you need the issu version file. Without issu you don't need it. So you can use the issu image file (without the issu version file).

so "Tos.img" is the same, only difference are "software.issu" or "issu_version" files?

I can copy new "Tos.img", do usual "reload from working no roll-back timeout" and pray? :D
