Slow telnet and interface communication.
Hello,
We have Alcatel 4400 and OmniVista 4760. The Telnet to any CPU is slow and the interface does not communicate well with the Fidelio PMS. If I switch over to twin CPU the postings from Fidelio interface do take place but only for a while until again the CPU hangs and telnet is again slow.
Any advice is gratefully appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Slow telnet and interface communication.
With slow telnet - check with "idle" (4400) or "pidle" (Enterprise) command CPU free %. If you have CPU free 0-15% - you have problem.
Use "ps -ef" command (two times f.e. with 30 sec interval) - check may be you have problem with some process (if time for this process will be increased).

Vad
Idle is 0.0 %
Thanks.
Elliot, is "top" a command? It is not found. Thank you.

Re: Slow telnet and interface communication.
"linf" is your issue although i am not sure what its for (someone else here may know) but would just kill the process out of hours just in case it does something bad
Also rather than post screenshot just copy and past the dump and if you want throw code tags around it

Re: Slow telnet and interface communication.
Yes but for OXE (Linux) only. You wrote 4400 so you have a Unix Release (R4.1 as I see in the screenshot) and thus no top...
There are other commands (but I think they will not help us here)
Yes, the linf process is your problem. It's the Hotel Computer Link.
Go to mgr - System - V24 and set the V24 Port for Application Hotel Computer Link to None and then back to Hotel Computer Link to restart (hopefully) the linf process.

Re: Slow telnet and interface communication.
The correct command syntax to find a looping process could be: ps -ef >a;sleep 10;ps -ef>b;diff a b

Re: Slow telnet and interface communication.
Thanks very much.
Right now somehow it is working fine for the time being - next time I will try to reset the V24 port as you said.
