Alcatel Unleashed

Hi, I'm new to Alcatel switches and while atempting to reset to factory setings I erase all files in the certified directory. With the help of this forum I was enable to put the .img files in the working directory from the miniboot but when I reboot the switch, I get the following message :

Cannot find component alcatelNetworking_kernel.lnk in /working/K2os.img
Cannot find component kernel.lnk in /working/K2os.img

For information, I get all the .img files from another 6850 switch... Where does the problem come from?

You have to put all img-files in certified. During boot the switch checks both directories. If working not the same like certified it will start from certified. I assume that certified is empty. You can copy all files from working to certified in miniboot with command "cp".

It's all my fault the file retrieved from the other switch were wrong because I got them in ASCII mode by FTP...

Once I get them in binary mode, everything goes fine...
