Need to Configure CPU with out CBRMA

Post by lball »

I had someone cut the cable to CBRMA accidently and I am trying to access the CPU6 using the VM adapter cable (the one with a Red End and a Black End DB25 and small 3 row connector) This should work when it is placed on the 8th Row and down on the back of the CPU - Can any one verify if this works?

What are my other means of connecting to do configuration when I do not have a IP address defined yet in the PCX?

Any one HELP.

I don t know if this connector will work.
If not, use the voicemail (4635) ethernet cable behind the CPU (IF you have the IP address). Plug it into the 3rd position (1 small adaptor, then pass 1 pin, another adaptor, pass another pin, then 3rd adaptor) and plug the RJ45 into your PC. It should do it.

Hi I tried this once when no CPU patch panel was available on Voice Hub.
Works fine.Port A (console) is on connector with red label, port B is on black one. Also you need DB25-DB9 changer for connection to PC.But DIN(3-row) connector should be placed on 1st row and down.
You can use this Y-cable without any problem for CPU connection.
For other means of connection -
find somewhere DIN 41612 (you can get shorter versions not full 32x3) connector and DB9 female connecter. Check this VM cable from DIN to DB9 with multimeter. 1st row pins a and c - RxD and TxD from CPU, pin b in 2nd row - ground and put down to which pins they connect on DB9f - it should be pins 2,3,and 5. Make youself such a cable.

I will check all of the suggestions..... If anyone has more ideas - they are welcome to advise. Also, If you know of any one in need of a few M2 cabinets loaded along with 4035s, 4020s and 4010 phones let me now. I am getting rid of 2 of 3 M2s with about 200 phones on each system.
